Bournemouth Samaritans aims for the next 3 years
Besides our core activity of providing 24/7 emotional support, we hope to continue with:
- Prison Outreach
- Visits to schools
- Visits to Care Homes
- Talks to Sedman Unit
- Attendance at Domestic Violence Forum
- Attendance at Crown Prosecution Service Advisory Panel
- Attendance at local events
- New Forest Show
- Ringwood Carnival
- Ferndown Festival
- Bournemouth Air Show
And to:
- Continue to deliver and improve on our 24/7 emotional support services
- Improve the awareness and understanding of Samaritans and the service we provide amongst our priority groups
- People in suicidal crisis
- People who self harm
- People who are supporting others in crisis
- People who are affected by the suicide of another
- Improve access to our services for people with Mental Health Problems
- Continue to provide and develop peer-supported schemes in prisons
- Increase our talks to schools
- Increase our community links
- Continue to pilot the new SMS service for the national organisation
- Become the acknowledged experts in the community on the provision of emotional support to people in suicidal crisis
